Storm Drainage Bixby City Code:
13-1-1: OBSTRUCTIONS, ACCUMULATIONS:
No person shall allow any filth, dirt or other
obstructions of any kind to accumulate in any gutter, drainageway or bar ditch
adjoining their property, and all owners or occupants of property located within
the city are required to keep the drainageways or bar ditches adjoining the
premises owned or occupied by them open, clean and free from trash and of other
obstructions to the easy and rapid flow of water through such ditch, and to
maintain the ditch at a low enough elevation to permit drainage to flow easily
along the way established for such drainage. (2006 Code)
Please keep storm drains that are in the street in front of some of our homes free of debris, grass clippings, and leaves! Thank you!
Winter Pet Alert
With the approach of winter and much colder weather
it is important to remember that we share our neighborhood with a host of
wildlife. You may not see them often, but our green-belt and the woods in
the area are home to coyotes, bobcats, and owls. We mention those three
because, as their natural food sources become less active in the winter
months, they in particular will prey on cats and small dogs.
These predators are normally nocturnal hunters, but as food becomes
scarce they will hunt during daylight hours.
So keep an eye on those pets, and don’t let them roam the neighborhood
alone.

Helpful Reminders for our Neighborhood:
Boats, Trailers and RVs
It’s that time of year. Please remember that the
covenants do not allow boats, trailers, RVs or any other
recreational or similar vehicle to be parked in the street or
on driveways. If they are parked in your side or backyard
they must be fenced or screened so as not to be seen
from the street or adjoining lots.
Neighborhood Appearance
Let’s all do our best to make our neighborhood look
as clean and appealing as possible. The property value
of everyone’s home can decrease when we don’t keep
our yards neatly mowed and edged; leave toys, personal
items and trash strewn about; and leave our garbage
cans and trash bags outside for several days before their
scheduled pick-up. And please remember to put your
garbage can in your garage or behind your fence after it
has been emptied by your trash service. The
neighborhood will look so much nicer for it. Thanks!
One important reminder...
Please do not blow or sweep (or allow your lawn service) grass clippings or leaves in the
street. The runoff from our yards drains into the storm water system and from
there into our retention pond. Grass clippings clog the outlet grating of our
pond and that results in flooding – the very thing the system is designed to
prevent.
